A shelter-in-place command may be given for a severe weather emergency, an environmental emergency, or a violent crime emergency.
- Stay in your office/classroom or proceed to a location that can be secured. Lock and/or barricade the door. If you are outdoors, proceed to the closest and safest building quickly.
- Allow other trusted individuals into your secure location.
- Turn off all lights, silence your phone, cover the door window, pull down the blinds and stay calm.
- Report any suspicious activity, sounds or smells to 911.
- Do not open the door unless instructed to do so by the proper authorities.
