Employment and Recruitment

SUNY Broome Public Safety is a unique division of law enforcement that provides the members of the SUNY Broome campus with service 24/7.

The department was established in 2005 and continues to grow. All of our officers take pride in community policing as they patrol the main campus as well as Student Housing. We provide a
variety of services to the SUNY Broome population, including responding to emergency calls and any other calls for service; traffic enforcement; enforcing New York State law, the Campus Code of
Conduct and any federal or local laws, if applicable; and making arrests as needed. SUNY Broome Public Safety is also responsible for parking, environmental safety and fire safety.

Our officers may patrol on foot, in a vehicle or on a bicycle, giving them the opportunity to foster positive relationships within our community.

Our busy times are when the Fall and Spring semesters are in session. The breaks in between the semesters allow our officers to focus on annual safety inspections, community presentation
development, training opportunities or even take a vacation.

Join our team and grow with us!
