Does my financial aid cover housing?
If you receive financial aid it is up to you to decide how to budget those funds. You can use it to cover housing, but be sure there is enough in aid money to cover rental expenses. You may need to take out additional loans.
Do I have to pay deposit or application fees?
This will depend on the property you rent. Some places require a $20 application fee, but most places require first month and security deposit.
Can you help me find a roommate?
Some of the properties listed do roommate matching. Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer that service at this time.
Do I get my deposit back?
YES! Unless you have done damage that exceeds the security deposit to repair, or you have left things dirty. Then you may get partial to none of your security deposit back. Be sure to record the state of your apartment and to notify the landlord/property manager whenever you need repairs so you don’t get held responsible.
Do I have to pay for water and electric?
It depends on the property you rent. Be sure you ask about this before you sign any lease, and also ask what the average cost of utilities are for that apartment so you can better budget your funds.
Is my apartment furnished?
That depends on the property you rent. Many on the list will indicate if the property is furnished or not.
What’s there to do for fun/where do I go shopping?
Check the campus calendar for all kinds of events and/or join a campus club. Pick up a copy of the Carousel for all kinds of fun things to do in the area. There are several shopping malls in the area, including Target, Kohls, Best Buy, Walmart and plenty of grocery stores. Use your link to the map of the area to find great restaurants, parks and movie theaters and lots more.
Do I have to pay rent during the summer?
It depends on the property you rent. Some will rent for the academic year only. Others rent for the full year only. Be sure to clear this up with your landlord/property manager before you sign a lease.
Can I store my things or do I have to bring everything home?

Can I get a meal plan?
Yes – you can get a meal plan that will allow you to eat at the cafeteria.
