The Counseling Services Department, acting in line with the mission of SUNY Broome Community College, as well as the Department of Student Development is committed to serving our students through counseling services and campus programming. We are steadfast in our goal of meeting the needs of a variety of people, including students of diverse racial, ethnic and national backgrounds, sexual/affectional orientations, gender identities, physical and mental abilities, languages, ages, religious/spiritual beliefs and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Counseling Services Department applies the skills of education and counseling with the highest degree of professional competence and commitment to facilitate the personal development of students, and to intervene in psychological crises at the College. In order to accomplish this mission, the Department provides a full range of confidential counseling services, including: personal counseling, crisis intervention, group counseling, and outreach programming.
