Mission
The mission of the Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) is to provide administrators, faculty, staff, and students with guidance to develop grant proposals and secure external funding for approved projects; and to provide post-award administration to ensure that all grant-funded activities, expenditures, and reports comply with the terms of the award. Goals – 2024-2025
Goal 1. Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrate commitment to impact diverse populations and under-represented students through the planning, development and award of culturally responsive grant-funded initiatives.
Goal 2. Teaching and Learning: Contribute to student growth and learning by supporting the College’s institutional goals and strategies as well as specific department objectives through the planning, development and award of grant-funded initiatives that promote an inclusive teaching- and learning-centered environment.
Goal 3. Strategic and Continuous Improvement: Optimize the grants planning process to ensure capacity and resource availability through the cultivation of an institution-wide grants culture.
Outcomes
1.1: Identify and publicize grant opportunities with faculty, staff and students, and submit grant proposals/funding applications that foster diversity initiatives on- and off-campus.
2.1: Identify and publicize grant opportunities with faculty, staff and students, and submit grant proposals/funding applications that support pedagogical excellence, student success, and student attainment of key learning outcomes.
2.2: Increase faculty, staff and student utilization of the grant planning resources and supports available through Sponsored Programs.
3.1: Maintain a comprehensive grants planning/management training program intended to increase faculty/staff engagement in grant seeking activities.
3.3: Increase the number of faculty/staff who engage in grant seeking activities as a result of implementing a comprehensive grants planning/management training program.
