Step 1
The faculty/staff Project Initiator(s) develop a project concept to address an evidence-based need in their area. Seeking input from peers, Department Chair/Director, and Sponsored Programs staff is encouraged.
Step 2
The Project Initiator obtains the two-page ““Project Concept Form – New Grant Proposal” (PDF Fillable Form) from the Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) and completes the Form.
Step 3
The Project Initiator meets with Dean/Director to discuss the project concept and review the Project Concept Form. If approved, the Dean/Director signs the Form and forwards to VP for review and approval.
Step 4
Once the VP reviews and signs the Form, the Dean/Director (or Project Initiator) forwards the original fully executed Project Concept Form to the SPO.
Step 5
Sponsored Programs staff assist the Project Initiator with identifying potential funding sources, developing proposals, and preparing grant application(s).
Step 6
The Director of Sponsored Programs is responsible for obtaining any official signatures required on grant applications and for submitting all grant applications to funding sources.
