SUNY Broome Community College manages student printing to maintain reasonable cost and to help reduce both the consumption and waste of paper and supplies. Faculty members are encouraged to use electronic media wherever and whenever possible. Student printing is restricted to that which is needed for academic purposes only.
The overall semester printing quota for students is 3,000 pages. When approaching this limit, you will be presented with the following message:
SUNY Broome provides students a 3,000 page quota per semester for printing course related materials. You are near that limit. Please visit IT Services in B-121 to review your needs and request additional quota.
If an attempt is made to print a document that will cause the quota of 3,000 pages to be exceeded, you will be presented with the following message:
SUNY Broome provides students a 3,000 page quota per semester for printing course related materials. Printing this document would exceed that 3,000 page quota. Please visit IT Services in B-121 to review your needs and request additional quota.
The individual print job maximum is 50 pages. This means that printing is restricted for a single document if it contains more than 50 pages. You will be presented with the following message if this occurs:
SUNY Broome does not allow printing of documents that are more than 50 pages. This print request has exceeded that limit. Please see a lab proctor for assistance or ask that your instructor contact IT Services (x5011) in B-121 for additional help or special consideration.
The number of copies of a document that can be printed in one request is 4. The following message will present itself if an attempt is made to print 5 or more copies of one document:
SUNY Broome does not allow more than 4 copies of the same document to be printed at one time. Please ask your instructor to contact IT Services in B-121 if special consideration is needed.
Requests can be made for additional quota or for special printing needs at the IT Services department located in B-121. Student printing is restricted to that which is needed for academic purposes only. A review of your printing history along with your explanation of need will be examined prior to increasing quota.
