The SUNY Broome Radiologic Technology Program Effectiveness data displays our pride in both our students and graduates.
In addition to the goals and student learning outcomes listed elsewhere on this site, the performance of the program is reflected through program effectiveness data as defined by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Their address is: 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182, 312-704-5300.
Program effectiveness data includes the program completion rate, credentialing examination pass rate, and job placement rate. Explanations of these measures and program data that correspond with the annual report submitted to the JRCERT are noted below. This information can also be obtained at JRCERT Program Effectiveness Data. Questions about program effectiveness data should be directed to the Radiologic Technology Department Chairperson.
Program Effectiveness Data
The following is the most current program effectiveness data. Our programmatic accreditation agency, the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), defines and publishes this information. Program Effectiveness Data is published on the JRCERT website and the explanations of these measures can be found on JRCERT Website.
Credentialing Examination
The number of students who pass, on the first attempt, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination, or an unrestricted state licensing examination, compared with the number of graduates who take the examination within six months of graduation. The five-year average benchmark established by the JRCERT is 75%.
Credentialing Examination Rate | Number passed on 1st attempt divided by number attempted within 6 months of graduation |
Year | Results |
Year 1 – 2019 | 22 of 25 – 88% |
Year 2 – 2020 | 20 of 22 – 91% |
Year 3 – 2021 | 16 of 22 – 73% |
Year 4 – 2022 | 12 of 18 – 67% |
Year 5 – 2023 | 17 of 22 – 77% |
Program 5-Year Average | 87 of 109 – 80% |
Job Placement
The number of graduates employed in the radiologic sciences compared to the number of graduates actively seeking employment in the radiologic sciences. In order to understand why the numbers of graduates employed may differ from the number of graduates, JRCERT has defined not actively seeking employment as: 1) graduate fails to communicate with program officials regarding employment status after multiple attempts, 2) graduate is unwilling to seek employment that requires relocation, 3) graduate is unwilling to accept employment, for example, due to salary or hours, 4) graduate is on active military duty, and/or 5) graduate is continuing education. The five-year average benchmark established by the JRCERT is 75%.
Job Placement Rate | Number employed divided by number actively seeking employment within 12 months of graduation |
Year | Results |
Year 1 – 2019 | 21 of 21 – 100% |
Year 2 – 2020 | 16 of 16 – 100% |
Year 3 – 2021 | 19 of 19 – 100% |
Year 4 – 2022 | 13 of 18 – 72% |
Year 5 – 2023 | 18 of 21 – 86% |
Program 5-Year Average | 87 of 95 – 92% |
Program Completion
The number of students who complete the program within the stated program length. The annual benchmark established by the program is 75%.
Program Completion Rate | Number graduated divided by number started the program |
Year – 2023 | 22 of 22 |
Annual Completion Rate | 100% |
