Supplemental Support Services

Supplemental Support Services helps the Hornet community navigate tough issues and access the support they need on campus. We manage the emergency grant funds and connect students to resources they need on and off campus.

We work with SUNY Broome students who are experiencing housing insecurities, food insecurities, students who are parents, and students who need assistance through the conduct process.

Resources for students experiencing

Housing Insecurity

In 2023, with a coordinated effort to address student housing insecurity, the State University of New York system designated a staff member on every campus to work with homeless students. (Read the article here: Inside Higher Ed)

The homeless liaison will serve as the point of contact for students struggling with housing insecurity or homelessness — defined by the State University of New York (SUNY) as a lack of “fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence” — connect them with available resources and advise them to ensure that they are achieving academic success.

If a student is experiencing homelessness, please reach out to SUNY Broome’s Homeless Liaison for more information and assistance: brewerlm@sunybroome.edu
