Julia Grella O’Connell is a music scholar who has published numerous articles on topics in nineteenth- and twentieth-century music. She is the author of the book Sound, Sin, and Conversion in Victorian England (Routledge, 2018). As a mezzo-soprano, Dr. O’Connell founded the historically-informed ensemble The Risorgimento Project, performing with them throughout the United States and Europe.
