Concerned About A Student… or Their Behavior?

SUNY Broome is committed to student success and we understand that at times students face difficult challenges that interfere with their success. Challenges that may raise concerns. If you have a concern about a student, please use the forms and/or links below to file a report. More information about each option can be found below or by using the navigation bar to the left.

Academic Concerns

If you have a concern about a student’s academic performance or persistence, please log onto Starfish and submit the appropriate information.  Starfish works with all members of our institution to address their specific needs. Overall, the vision of Starfish is to help students succeed and graduate. It is an easy to use tool with a great user interface that gives faculty, students, and staff the opportunity to connect on another level. Student Conduct Concerns

Every student is a member of the learning community of SUNY Broome. As a member of this community, each individual has certain rights as a student. Each individual must recognize that other members of this community are affected by their actions and great care should be given in creating an open and accepting environment.  If you are aware of students acting in such a way that detracts from the SUNY Broome community* through the violation of the Rules of Student Conduct, please report that information using the button below.

*If the inappropriate conduct is taking place in the classroom, the concerns should be brought to the Chair of your department for consultation as to how to address the behavior.

Title IX

SUNY Broome Community College prides itself on creating an environment where all students, faculty, staff, and visitors can feel safe from being a victim of sexual, or any other violence. However, if there is an instance of sexual or interpersonal violence where a member of the SUNY Broome community is involved, we will take direct action in addressing such behavior. Should you be aware of a incident that might involve sex or gender based violence, harassment, discrimination, or stalking please report by the using the reporting button below.

Student of Concern

Are you looking to assist a student in non-academic distress? SUNY Broome SOC and CARE teams review reports about the student in distress and take appropriate action to best ensure the student’s well-being, the community’s safety, and the student’s success here at SUNY Broome. The teams provide early intervention resources for SUNY Broome’s faculty, staff, and students and consult on student behaviors that are distressing, disruptive, or threatening and of concern. To report a non-academic concern, please complete the SOC referral form by clicking on the Student of Concern button below.

Bias Related Incident

Bias related-incidents are incidents where a member or a group of the SUNY Broome community has been mistreated due to that individual’s or group’s actual or perceived age, color, creed, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any combination of these or related factors. To report a Bias related incident, please complete the Bias Incident referral form by clicking on the Bias incident button below.
