All SUNY Broome Campus Peace Officers must attend and complete the requirements of a DCJS approved Law Enforcement Academy. Most of SUNY Broome Campus Peace Officers attend the Broome County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Academy. You must meet the physical fitness requirements of the academy and pass all the training elements involved in basic training. Candidates will participate in defensive tactics, Firearms, EVOC, reality-based training along with daily physical fitness and classroom training hours.
