Audio-only Content Transcripts
Audio-only content developed by the Office of Marketing and Communications (MarCom) and developed externally will be made accessible through the following means:
- Publishing the original script as a transcript
- Manually transcribing the externally developed content
Auto-Synchronized Captions
Auto-Synchronized captioning is available for all public non-academic content produced by MarCom. MarCom has multiple methods of ensuring public-facing content has synchronized captions:
- Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn each has synchronized captions natively integrated into the platform.
- For YouTube we utilize the platform’s auto-caption algorithm and make edits within the auto-generated transcript as needed. These captions can be toggled on or off by the users.
Descriptive Audio
Descriptive audio can be provided of video-only content through the following means:
- An audio description will be recorded in-sync with the original visual content
- The audio description will be rendered into the visual content and uploaded as a private YouTube link and made accessible to the individual requesting descriptive audio
- This applies to audio-visual content which includes visual-only sections
