PowerPoint Templates
How to use/install PowerPoint templates
- Download a SUNY Broome PowerPoint template by selecting one of the images above.
- Open sunybroome.pptx in PowerPoint and begin editing! This PowerPoint already has the SUNY Broome theme completely built into it.
Saving the SUNY Broome PowerPoint theme for use in other PowerPoints:
Windows PC instructions:
- Download and open the SUNY Broome PowerPoint from the link above.
- On the File menu, select Save As.
- In the File name box, type a name for your template.
- In the Save as type box, select Design Template.
- Select Save.
Mac instructions:
- Download and open the SUNY Broome PowerPoint from the link above.
- Select on the “Themes” tab in the ribbon near the top of the PowerPoint interface.
- Select the “Save Theme” button near the top right of the PowerPoint interface.
- PowerPoint will then prompt you to name your theme. You may leave it as “sunybroome” and select “Save.” The theme will be saved automatically in the same location as your other themes and will then be available as a theme option in your Themes ribbon.
Applying the SUNY Broome PowerPoint to a new or existing PowerPoint:
- Complete the above instructions on “Saving the SUNY Broome PowerPoint theme for use in other PowerPoints.”
- Open the PowerPoint that you’d like to apply the SUNY Broome theme to (or open a new one).
- Select on the “Themes” tab in the ribbon near the top of the PowerPoint interface.
- Select on the SUNY Broome theme icon within your themes. It will most likely be the first one. This will apply the SUNY Broome theme to all of your slides. Be sure to go through each slide and ensure everything appears correctly. This may require you to move some objects or resize some text.
PowerPoint Backgrounds
How to use/install PowerPoint backgrounds
- Select the background that you’d like to use, and then right click the larger version that shows up & save it to your computer.
- Open your powerpoint, right click on any slide and select “Format Background.”
- At the top, select “Picture or Texture.”
- Next to “From file:” select the “Choose Picture…” button.
- Select the image you downloaded and select “Insert”
- Select “Apply to all.” All of the slides in your powerpoint will now have the new background.
