SUNY Broome’s Department of Music and Theater Arts prides itself on providing all members of the campus community with musical and theatrical opportunities for study, collaboration, participation or simply to enjoy. The A.S. in Music degree allows students to focus their studies on music while still taking all the General Education courses they would need for an A.S. degree. Students interested in Theater would complete an associate’s degree while taking courses in this area of interest.
All music ensembles are also open to the campus community. Students can join the College Choir, Guitar Ensemble, String Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, College Band or Chamber Singers (audition only). Students can sign-up for these one credit classes when making their schedules or contact Associate Professor Brenda Dawe at dawebm@sunybroome.edu for more information.
Students perform both on and off campus during the semester. Be sure to keep a watch for upcoming Department events on the Campus Calendar.
