Mission Statement
The Faculty-Student Association, Inc. exists as a not-for-profit corporation to assists students, faculty and staff of the college in their educational pursuits, employment, social and extra-curricular activities. Provides services, contractually, such as bookstore, dining and vending, financial support of day care, professional development grant, recognition banquet, college enhancement, diversity initiatives, campus events, outreach and scholarships for parents’ subsidies for day care. Assistance to provide financial assistance for granting travel advance to faculty and staff attending conferences, assist with travel finances for students enrolled in worldwide study courses. Provides financial management of budgets for Student Activity Fees and BCC Housing Development Corporation.
Goals
- Promote and cultivate extracurricular, social, educational engagement among our College students, faculty and staff.
- Provide financial management of budgets for specified area on campus
- Support faculty and staff professional development efforts through grant funding and cash advances for workshops, conferences and other professional events.
- Provide financial support for campus programs and initiatives.
Support Outcomes
Student support services:
- Increase the learning support opportunities that are available and continue support to students by providing textbook options and supplies for courses.
- Improve campus life experiences of students through quality dining options, convenient vending in each building, quality day care services with grant funding available.
- Continue financial management and support of athletics and clubs so as to enhance the student learning experience.
Financial support:
- Sustain and increase if possible financial support for the day care center as well as campus programs and events such as professional development grants, college enhancement, diversity initiatives, outreach and day care scholarships for student parents
