Most of the merit scholarships awarded are made possible by annual and endowed gifts to the Broome Community College Foundation from businesses, civic and professional organizations, local foundations and individuals. Others are made possible through unrestricted gifts to the BCC Foundation. In addition to merit scholarships, the Foundation raises and administers funds to support student grants-in-aid, faculty and staff professional development and special campus projects.
The Foundation and the College are very grateful to the many contributors who make the merit awards and the Foundation’s other programs possible.

Katie Smith is attending college a little later in life than the typical college student. Good grades are very important to her and she plans to transfer to Binghamton University.
