The Fast Forward Program at SUNY Broome Community College is accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.
On Thursday, April 29 2010, SUNY Broome Community College received notice from the National Alliance for Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) that their Fast Forward Program had earned NACEP accreditation. Concurrent enrollment programs, such as SUNY Broome Community College’s Fast Forward Program, promote and offer challenging college-level experiences to students in their last one or two years of high school. Students benefit through their ability to enroll in rigorous college-level courses while simultaneously meeting high school graduation requirements. As colleges experience high remediation rates, programs such as Fast Forward play an increasingly vital role in building the all-important partnerships between high schools and colleges.
According to Jan Erickson, NACEP representative, “The peer review team commended the program for their diligence in supporting the application and instituting NACEP standards-based practices, in spite of the numerous personnel changes.” With this accreditation, Broome Community College joins “53 distinguished institutions whose high quality concurrent enrollment programs have survived rigorous scrutiny by peer reviewers.”
