Andrea Roma has worked with the College starting back in April 2009 in the TechPrep Career Pathways Office. Through her career at the College, she has also worked as an Admissions Counselor beginning July 2009, then transitioned in April 2013 to the Broome Community College Foundation as Director Development and since January 2018 has been serving as the Chair of Outreach overseeing the Fast Forward and Early College programs, which enables highly motivated high school and homeschool students to take college courses. She also serves as the college liaison and works with Broome-Tioga BOCES & Anthony Henninger HS (Syracuse, NY) P-TECH programs, as well as SUNY Broome’s Owego Campus. In 2020, she was awarded the P-TECH Outstanding Higher Education Parter. She also continues her work with the BCC Foundation as a Scholarship Reviewer and faculty donor, being named one of the Faculty/Staff Campaign representatives for 2021-2022.
The Fast Forward Program is also accredited through the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) and is one of only the nearly 120 colleges nationwide to have been awarded this accreditation. The department is committed to developing meaningful partnerships to increase opportunity and accessibility for students. Andrea has a vast knowledge about the resources and services the campus offers and continually strives to provide excellent customer service to her colleagues, students and external partners.
Andrea is originally from Watertown, NY, graduated from General Brown Central, attended SUNY Jefferson and received her Associate’s in 2003, transferred to Binghamton University and received her B.A. in Psychology in 2005 and M.S. in Student Affairs Administration in 2014.
She looks forward to meeting prospective students and families, guiding them through SUNY Broome and the opportunities that await.
