Amelia (Amy) Christian earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University, her Master of Music degree from The University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the City University of New York, Graduate Center. Her dissertation was centered on the pedagogical techniques of violinist O. Sevčik. She is currently a visiting lecturer on the violin faculty at Cornell University and teaches at SUNY Broome. Amy is a past faculty member at Binghamton University and Marywood University, where she conceived and oversaw the String Project, a youth outreach program which served hundreds of students under her leadership. Amy is a founding member of Symphoria in Syracuse, NY and principal second violin in the Binghamton Philharmonic. She makes her home in upstate NY with her husband and enjoys time with her three grown children.
