Mission Statement
Because learning begins at birth and lasts a lifetime, The B.C. Center strives to provide affordable and accessible, high quality child care for the children of SUNY Broome students and staff, as well as children from the surrounding community. As part of an institution of higher education that seeks to achieve excellence in both teaching and learning, The B.C. Center serves as a host school by offering field experience opportunities to students in the SUNY Broome Early Childhood/Teacher Education Department.
Goals
- Increase student parent enrollment by 10% through the use of funds made available through the New York State Family Empowerment Program.
- Decrease staffing costs by using permanent staff to cover teacher breaks instead of lunch aides and substitutes.
- Explore different possibilities for lunch options and the costs associated with each.
