Abstract: A future geothermal project on SUNY Broome’s campus (to expand the geothermal project currently underway) will receive a free ground-source heat pump (GSHP) screening analysis through Stage 1 of the Geothermal Clean Energy Challenge program. This analysis will help to advance the installation of selected best-in-class, large-scale geothermal systems, which use consistent ground temperatures to heat and cool buildings. Pending successful completion of Stage 1, SUNY Broome will be eligible for successive Stages 2- 4, which include advanced reports, detailed design studies, and project implementation assistance with financing, construction and rebates.
