Welcome to SUNY Broome!
Congratulations on your decision to study in the United States. After receiving your official acceptance to SUNY Broome Community College, you will need to begin preparing for your arrival to the United States as an F-1 student. One of the more important aspects of this preparation is obtaining your F-1 Student Visa. The F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, meaning your intend to return to your home country. This section is designed to assist you, as a first time student, to understand the process and guide you through it successfully.
There is a required International Student Orientation before classes each semester. This is designed to help you get settled in Binghamton, get prepared to start classes including registration, placement testing, and paying your tuition, as well as get you ready for success as an international student. It’s also a great way to meet other new students and our student volunteers here to help you get adjusted!
Besides applying for the F-1 visa, there are many other things to consider. This website is designed to help address those areas also. This section includes information about:
- Applying for Your F-1 Visa
- What is the SEVIS fee and how to pay for it
- Finding Housing
- Arriving in Binghamton
- Health/Immunization Requirements
- How to Pre-Pay Tuition
If we can assist with any other questions you have regarding your arrival, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to you joining the SUNY Broome Family!
