Gina Chase, Applied Learning and Career Specialist
Gina strives to support students and alumni as they prepare for their careers in a variety of ways. Whether you are looking to develop your resume or cover letter, identify and develop appropriate applied learning experiences, recruit SUNY Broome students/alumni, utilize Purple Briefcase or search for a job, Gina is eager to work with you.
Gina earned her B.S. in English from SUNY Oneonta in 2007 and her M.S. in Student Affairs Administration from Binghamton University in 2010. Before settling at SUNY Broome in 2015, Gina worked at SUNY Oswego for 5 years in both Residence Life and Housing and Experiential Learning.

Jeanie Kumpon, Staff Associate
Jeanie is a Career Coach in the Applied Learning & Career Center, where she is happy to assist students with resume development, interview coaching and job/internship search. Jeanie also collaborates with faculty to develop important career-related events that connect students to employers and provide valuable skill development opportunities.
Jeanie’s position is funded through a grant under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act, administered by the New York State Education Department. Jeanie earned her B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Counselor Education from the University of Wyoming and has an extensive work history centered on helping people identify and achieve their personal, educational and career goals. Jeanie has been with SUNY Broome since 2014.

Shamya Lewis, Student Assistant
Shamya is a student in the Criminal Justice/Corrections program. When she graduates, she plans to become a Corrections Officer and eventually work her way through the Department of Justice. She enjoys working in the Applied Learning & Career Center because it expands her skills in a different department from her program of study, giving her additional experience. She also likes working in the ALCC because she likes to help others.
Akiva Rhodes, Student Assistant
Akiva is a SUNY Broome student in the Binghamton Advantage Program (BAP) with plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration: Finance at Binghamton University. He enjoys working in the Applied Learning & Career Center and assisting the students, alumni and community members who come in.
Jessica Mitchell, Graduate Intern
Jessica is a Graduate Intern at the ALCC, where she is excited to gain experience and learn more about Career Services. She is a first-year graduate student in the Student Affairs Administration program at Binghamton University, and is also currently a Graduate Assistant at the Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development.
