Your Bachelor’s Degree is Closer Than You Think!
Have you earned your Associate’s degree, but didn’t think that you could earn a Bachelor’s degree due to:
- Working full time
- Having a family
- Not being able to relocate
- Having been out of college for a long time
Your path to a Bachelor’s degree can continue through SUNY Broome’s Bachelor Partnerships with Excelsior College or SUNY Empire State College. These colleges both offer alternative learning formats and credit options geared toward providing students with the flexibility needed to earn a Bachelor’s degree while juggling life’s other responsibilities.
Alternative learning formats include:
- Online courses
- Study groups
- Weekend residencies
- A blend of these approaches
Credit options include:
- Compiling credits earned through previous institutions
- Taking additional coursework through SUNY Broome
- Credit for professional certifications that you already hold
- Credit for life experience (Prior Learning)
- UExcel – testing to earn credit
Both Excelsior College and Empire State College have been helping SUNY Broome graduates earn their bachelor’s degrees for decades – 38 students earned their diploma from Excelsior College in 2017 through the Partnership path! Having recently partnered with SUNY Empire, we are excited to see how many students now earn their Bachelor’s degree through SUNY Empire as a Partnership student. Both colleges are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the same accrediting body as SUNY Broome.
These SUNY Broome partnerships both offer individualized advising which will allow you to get back in to the swing of being in college and become comfortable with alternate learning formats.
